I don’t know why I chose hospitality. Working in it part-time now sucks, studying it for my degree sucks, and I’m guessing my future in hospitality as a career also sucks. People suck. I hate people. I hate fake-smiling, I hate whining bitches, I hate the ridiculously bizarre and inconsistent hours.
But then some days you can absolutely love it…
And happy 21st birthday to Nellie (who is at her new domain!).
My hosting account with Site5 is on their ‘orestes‘ server, and it has experience so much downtime over the last month or two - and I’m very unimpressed. It’s hardly the 99.9% uptime that they advertise, and as for their knowledgeable technical support team - I really beg to differ.
After telling them (at length) about how dissatisfied I was with the service I was getting and that I was not really getting any value for money, I requested to be moved to another server (such as the one which has over 550+ days of uptime). My response, although fast, was pathetic:
Unfortunately we are unable to move you to another server at this time as all moves are suspended during our migration to the planet.
Yeah, thanks for your help. Thanks for the apology. Thanks for the percentage refund due to the downtime I’ve experienced. I feel it should be offered, but alas, I’ve had to request it: great customer service!
I know there are many people out there who rave about Site5, their fantastic support and all they have to offer. I really am not happy right now, particularly when I read articles like Nan’s: Site5 deleted a whole bunch of her database entries.
I’ve been with so many hosting companies over the last couple of years. AN Hosting, otherwise known as MidPhase Hosting, has still been by far the best. Regretting the move, and kind of questioning why I ever left!
EDIT: Just got a response from a rep called Jessica who was really nice and gave me the response I was after. She gave me a credit, and although I don’t plan to use it, she was sincere, apologetic and polite: all I expected! Considering AN again and Nellie’s suggestion of buyback with Holdfire!
Looking through iPhoto today I found all these videos of us post-school-pre-university. Two or three nights a week we’d go to each others’ houses (because the other four or five nights we’d be out spending all our money (yeah, after school, partying was a seven days a week thing)) and drink and dance until we were completely buggered or passed out. We’ve been captured in classier moments, but this was too funny not to put up.
Come On Eileen was our song. Where-ever there was a jukebox, we had it on. This night at mine there was only about six of us, and we all got completely blind. Halfway through the song I spill my drink and the reactions are priceless! None of us can watch it without putting our hands over our mouths: we were complete idiots.
NB. Our dancing may make more sense to those who have seen the [ridiculous] video clip.
I hear the five people below get around.
