Free Rice: Pure Genius
FreeRice.com is perhaps one of the most brilliant websites I’ve come across in a long time (that doesn’t have pictures of boobies). It’s a vocabulary game/quiz, and “For each word you get right, we donate 20 grains of rice through the United Nations to help end world hunger“.
Great idea, but ‘Pure Genius’? More than anything, it’s peoples’ guilt that makes this organisation so successful! After about 5 words, 100 grains of rice, I was bored and ready to go Facebook stalking; but then this deep feeling of guilt overwhelmed me. How could I possibly leave someone with only 100 grains of rice?! After helping with enough rice for what I estimate to be a couple of third world countries, I still feel guilty about stopping, but I have an increasingly vast vocabulary for which to write intellectually minded weblog posts!
OK, maybe not, but FreeRice.com is still pure and utter brilliance.

Yeah, I tried. I really did. But it’s way too late for my brain to function.

I agree. I play it when I’m bored, and I love it because I always feel a little accomplished even when I lose.

So why is it you haven’t used any of said vast vocabulary in this blog entry. Surely you want to appear perspicacious.
Haha. Thesaurus.com is my fwiend.

…because I did not yearn dishearten my sojourners by onstensiblising as I were more astute than they.
(”Obstensible” is a word… “Obstensibilising”, however, may not be. Thesaurus.com is fantastic!)
